Kennecott PitThe Division of Oil, Gas and Mining regulates exploration for and development of Utah's oil, gas, coal and other mineral resources.  When exploration and developmental activities are completed, the division ensures that oil and gas wells are properly abandoned and mining sites are satisfactorily reclaimed.

Utah Oil and gas operators can now electronically submit Applications for Permit to Drill (APDs) and Sundry Noticesthrough the Utah Division of Oil, Gas and Mining website. Click here to check it out!


Office Hours for State Agencies
Governor Huntsman directed the Department of Natural Resources and other state agencies to implement a 4-day, 10-hour work week, effective Monday, August 4, 2008. Most state government offices are now closed on Fridays to cut energy usage. Our new office hours are Monday thru Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.   Click here for more information or contact us if you have questions.
