Trail Canyon Mine
TRAIL CANYON MINE - Reclaimed in 1989, Permit INA/015/021
Trail Canyon Mine is located on the eastern edge of the Wasatch Plateau Coal Field approximately 11 miles west of Huntington, Utah. Mining has occurred intermittently since 1921 and most recently Co-Op Mining Company had operated the mine. The permit area is comprised of approximately 270 acres and the surface and mineral rights are privately owned by COP Development Company, which leases the property to Co-Op Mining Company.
Reclamation activities began at the site in June 1987 and were concluded in April 1989. This site has received Phase I and Phase II bond releases from the Utah Division of Oil, Gas, and Mining.
