WHITE OAK MINING & CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. - Active Operation, Permit ACT/007/001

The White Oak #1 and #2 Mines are located in the northern Wasatch Plateau Coal Field, about two miles southwest of Scofield and 25 miles west of Price, Utah. The mines and loadout were operated by Valley Camp of Utah, Inc. and known as the Belina Complex prior to September, 1993. The mines are now owned and permited by White Oak Mining & Construction Co., Inc., a Nevada corporation. The mines are located east of, and adjacent to the Skyline Mine. Access to the White Oak Mines is through Whiskey Canyon, a side canyon of Eccles Canyon. Approximately 22% of the surface area, or 700 acres, drains southeast into the Huntington Creek Drainage Basin. The permit area includes 3,746 acres of combined federal and non federal lands.

Road construction for the White Oak Mines began in 1975 and the #1 Mine has been in operation since 1979, the #2 Mine since 1982. Mining is by room and pillar methods with production over one million tons per year.
